Stacy Raymond

Founder and Director of Eagle’s Wing

Eagle’s Wing Resources and Learning Center was created by Stacy Raymond out of a desire to form a learning community which would nurture an atmosphere of joy and creativity, while still giving students a rigorous and liberal education.

Possessing a lifelong love affair with books, Stacy is an avid student of literature, history, the creative arts, and Bible study. She has found a way to foster learning for life as she learns every day beside her students. Believing as Charlotte Mason suggests that, ‘the only true education is self-education’, she seeks to serve families and to equip students to think critically.

When not in a ‘classroom’ somewhere, Stacy can be found home with her family, running on the trails, wandering through various art museums, or at a baseball field, usually with a book beside her.

Stacy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from Berry College and an MBA from University of Colorado.

You can check out what her students are doing in the Artroom and Pottery Studio, and what we are reading in The Literature Circle!

All of life is learning, so come along and join us on the journey!

Caycee Angelo

K1 Teacher

I am so excited to be teaching again this year. It is my second year teaching here, and it has been such a joy to be part of this community. Our youngest, Nicholas (11), is entering 6th grade and has been part of the Eagle’s Wing family for the past four year.

I’m a lifelong learner and mom to three wonderful kids: Alex (19) is studying environmental engineering at Marquette University, Rory (18) is preparing to begin her freshman year at the University of Iowa studying biology on the pre-PA track, and Nicholas keeps us busy at home. I’ve homeschooled each of them at different times over the years and have loved the flexibility and richness that comes with a Charlotte Mason-inspired education.

Some of my favorite things include reading aloud, quiet walks in nature, and spending time at the lake with my family—and our three dogs. I consider it a true privilege to walk alongside your children this year as they grow in wisdom, wonder, and delight.

Michelle Baccarini

Lower Elementary and Art Teacher

Michelle is very excited to be part of such a great team at Eagles Wing, where the community of staff, students, and families always brighten her day and bring joy to her heart.

A few years ago, Michelle went back to school to pursue her teaching degree in Elementary Education. After obtaining her degree, she planned to teach in the public school system. Instead, a series of events led her to teach at a local homeschool group, in addition to homeschooling her own children, before finding Eagles Wing.

In her spare time, you are likely to find Michelle at the park with her kids, hiking, or being in nature. She strives to treat everyone with compassion and care, find joy in all things, and lead with love. Michelle hopes to encourage her students to find their strengths, pursue their interests, and continue to establish a love of learning.

Jennifer Gnagni

Lower Elementary Teacher

Jennifer is so excited to be a part of the teaching team at Eagles Wing again this year. She is a homeschooling mom of two adventurous boys. Her oldest, Banyan has been a part of Eagles Wing for a number of years and her youngest, Canyon, will be starting his second year in this amazing program.

Jennifer earned a B.S. degree in biology and minor in chemistry from DePaul University but realized after many odd jobs her passion really was working with children. She continued her schooling to earn a masters degree in elementary education with middle school science endorsements and proceeded to teach in the public school setting for many years. She now is so blessed and fortunate to stay home, teach, and learn alongside her own children. She also tutors many elementary students in reading and math and was the lead kindergarten teacher in a co-op.

Jennifer and her boys can usually be found keeping their curiosity growing learning outside in nature. Jen loves to garden, grow micro greens, and spend as much time outside as possible camping, hiking, kayaking, and reading in a comfy hammock. She hopes to nurture the students’ love of learning at EW while bringing some adventure to the classroom.

Tricia Giron

Lower Elementary and Math Teacher

Tricia holds a B.S. in chemistry from Millikin University and M.L.S. in food science from North Carolina State University.  She worked in food research and development for 20 years and ran a small business, The Culinary Palette, for 5 years.  Tricia also holds a teaching certificate for early childhood Montessori education.  She taught early childhood for 5 years before starting a homeschool journey with her family.

Dabbling in many different hobbies you can often find her stitching, needle felting, or weaving.  Being in nature is one of her favorite places. She has been known to forage mushrooms, and other wild edibles while on her adventures. Reading with her children is one of her favorite past times.

Linda Standinger

Science, Junior High and High School Teacher

Linda Standinger is enthusiastic about the educational philosophy of Eagle’s Wing Learning Center.  She loves helping students connect what they’re learning with concepts that are familiar to them, whether they’re studying science, history, geography or literature.  Her teaching style has been guided by Francis Schaffer’s perspective that “All truth is God’s truth.”

Linda studied Food Science, earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Davis and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Rutgers University in New Jersey.  After working in product development at M&M/Mars, Inc. for almost five years, she moved to Chicago and spent a year teaching chemistry at College of DuPage.  During her home school years, she taught various co-op classes, including U.S. Constitution, biology labs, chemistry, and personal finance.  She has been teaching at Eagle’s Wing Learning Center since the fall of 2019.

Linda and her husband, Greg, have been married since 1995.  They home schooled their three children from pre-school through high school graduation, enjoying many soccer games, baseball tournaments and speed skating meets along the way.  Linda’s favorite part of home schooling was reading living books out loud with her children.  She has also enjoyed working in youth ministries and women’s ministries at her church as well as traveling with extended family.

Michael Hapner

Music Director and Latin Teacher

Michael has been a teacher, musician, and pastor in both Ohio and the Chicago area for over 15 years.

He is currently the worship leader at Grace Bible Church in Elmhurst where he has served for many years and keeps busy leading an awesome group of musicians as well as writing original music, arranging and composing for weekly services.  He never met a musical genre he didn’t like and listens to pretty much everything from rock to pop to country to metal to musical theater to jazz (although he is a sucker for anything baroque.)

He has been playing guitar and piano for many years, and singing since he was in the womb. He teaches between 30 and 40 private students in those disciplines in the Chicago area every week.

In addition to keeping busy with music, Michael has been working with youth, both in a professional capacity as youth pastor/worship leader and chaplain, and as a volunteer for over 12 years.  He loves getting to be there as students discover their gifts, are challenged to use them, and begin to grow into young men and women who employ those gifts skillfully in order to serve others.

His interests include theology (especially soteriology), religious philosophy, poetry, literature, art, and pizza and he is currently studying Latin, which he highly enjoys.
